Should you buy it?
The Char-Griller Akorn combines kamado-style cooking with a lighter steel construction. Triple-wall insulation is designed to retain heat efficiently, while its quoted 90°C to 370°C temperature range supports everything from low-and-slow smoking to high-temperature searing. There are 447 square inches of cooking space including the warming rack, with a heavy-duty cast-iron grate providing the main cooking surface. An EasyDump ash pan simplifies charcoal clean-up and sturdy wheels make the grill easier to reposition. It lacks the traditional ceramic construction of premium kamados, but offers much of the same cooking versatility in a more mobile package.
