The Outback Jupiter is aimed at cooks who don't want to choose between gas convenience and charcoal flavour. Its hybrid system lets you use the gas burners conventionally or use them to ignite charcoal in the supplied basket before switching the gas off. Four main burners, a separate side burner and a 64 x 42cm cooking area provide plenty of capacity for family meals and entertaining. The porcelain-coated cooking surfaces, double-skin hood, temperature gauge and warming rack give it a suitably substantial specification, while the removable chopping board and cabinet add useful preparation and storage space. At 71kg and over £500 this is a serious permanent garden BBQ rather than a portable option, and some multi-cook accessories are sold separately.
