Welcome to whichBBQ.co.uk, the home of outdoor cooking.
We bring you authentic barbecue and outdoor oven reviews, and trendy, delicious food recipes, and we give you all the ingredients you need to make your outdoor cooking experience, a positive one.
So now it’s time for you to sit back and chill and we’ll fire up the grill!
If you’re in a rush and don’t have time to read the entire review, here is our summary of the Landmann e-Pantera Electric BBQ .
We know what the BBQ purists will be thinking… “An ELECTRIC BBQ?!?”… but let’s put it through its paces and see how it stacks up.
THE E-PANTERA SUMMARY:
There’s an electrical element underneath, but what really gives you a close-to-real barbecue experience is the cast iron grills on the top.
This is a great little portable barbecue and is ideal for somebody that hasn’t got a lot of space. Maybe if you own a balcony, small patio area garden, or maybe if you have a caravan and you had an electric hookup, you could use it as well.
If you want a portable BBQ that you can use off the mains supply, then the e-Pantera is a great option.
We’ve proven it could withstand the easiest of family BBQs (if given the time to heat up), and even create something brilliant with our recipe.
With its 5-year warranty, it’s certainly one to consider if you’re limited to space or on the go and don’t want a naked flame. Just remember to keep the lid down!
THE SETUP:
It came in a robust, well-packaged box. It’ was very quick to unpack, and very quick to assemble!
It took us 15 – 20 minutes to unpack and set up the e-Pantera, so this could be a BBQ that is ordered last minute.
That said, it’s worth watching our unboxing video on YouTube to make sure you don’t miss anything.
THE OVERVIEW:
There’s an electrical element underneath, but what really gives you a real barbecue experience is the cast iron grills on the top.
There’s a lot to like about this electric barbecue, and it creates an opportunity for a small, enclosed space, like a balcony, or areas where you can’t use an open flame, to still get that BBQ experience.
It’s not what you would expect from a BBQ, but once you have got to grips with how to work it, and how to properly cook on it, it’ll prove to be a saviour.
It has some interesting features:
- 2 Piece Cast Iron Grill
- Nice temperature control on the hood (although it is a little vague).
- Easy access, foldable side tables – if you’re using a hot pan as we did in our review, we’d suggest using a form of a trivet to ensure you don’t melt the side table.

THE RECIPE:
Let’s take you through what we’re going to cook today.
-
- We’ve got some beautiful honey-glazed chorizo.
- We’re going to cook a beautiful sourdough bruschetta with finely chopped tomato, garlic and basil topping.
- We’re going to do traditional prawns Pill Pill, with a slight whichBBQ twist.
- And then we’re going to do some Cajun and mint marinated halloumi. It has a beautiful flavour when cooked!
How to cook all of the tapas recipes together:
Once you have everything prepared, it’s time to get stuck in and start grilling!
Pop a pan in the corner of the BBQ to warm up. We’re using a pan so the prawns don’t slip through the grill.
While you prepare everything else, place the mixed sweet peppers on the grill to start charring. Remember though, if you’re using an electric BBQ it’s going to take longer to cook.
Onto the chorizo, pop them on one side of the BBQ away from a hot spot as you don’t want them to burn.
There are lots of different varieties of chorizo – you can get spicy, you can get mild etc. We’re BBQing so we’ve opted for moist and soft cooking chorizo.
Everyone has their own preference when it comes to oil, but for this recipe, we didn’t choose extra virgin olive oil because it tends to have a strong flavour and rapeseed oil is more universal.
With the e-Pantera there is a serious heat loss problem when you have the lid open, so make sure to keep the lid closed as much as possible throughout the cooking.
If you keep the lid shut, it’s pleasantly surprising how the cast iron grill can give your food a nice, charred look and taste.
While you wait we can get the sourdough bruschetta underway and start to char your sourdough pieces as per the recipe
You can also start to char your halloumi pieces providing you have enough space on your BBQ.
By now the chorizo will probably be cooked, check they are up to 75c with your temperature probe and take them off the BBQ and put to one side or onto a resting shelf if you have one.
Turn over the sourdough bruschetta and focus on the prawns, your pan should be nice and hot now so you can cook your prawns as per the recipe.
Everything should be cooked and ready now so you can bring all of these lovely WhichBBQ Romantic Tapas together!
So now it’s time to bring our tapas dishes together. Slice your chorizo and pop it into a small dish, top your bruschettas with the tomato mixture, put the cooked prawns into a bowl and plate up your charred halloumi and charred peppers.
Enjoy with a large glass of wine, preferably in the sun!

THE E-PANTERA SUMMARY:
If you allow enough time for these cast iron griddle plates to get hot, it will give you close to a traditional barbecue cooking experience. Just remember, keep the lid down as long as you can in between adding food. That will allow the fat to drip down onto the drip tray and all those barbecue-style flavours.
This is a great little portable, barbecue that is ideal for somebody that hasn’t got a lot of space, maybe a balcony or a small patio area garden, or maybe if you have a caravan and you add an electric hook-up, you could use it as well.
Remember, if you want to use this outside then you may need an electrical extension lead.
If you want a portable BBQ to cook up some sausages and burgers from the supermarket, the E-Pantera has proven it can do that in spades. It’s also proven that with a little patience, you can even create a WhichBBQ Romantic Tapas For 2!
